A German Melodeath Threesome
If you, like me, are a total Melodeath junkie, and so can never have enough of Melodic Death Metal, you’re in for a real treat today. This time we’ve got two completely new bands and one that has already been featured before. Apart from their musical similarities, there’s also a common ground in terms of their origin, as all of these bands hail out of Germany. To me that’s a particularly good thing, because it drastically increases my chances to see all of them live!
Cypecore – Moment of Impact + Feel the Ground (Devastated)
We’ll start off with Cypecore, of whom we’ve already had a post before – can’t hurt to visit that again. But make sure you return, because we’ve got material lined up from their newest album, Take the Consequence, which was released in early December.

Their debut, Innocent (2008) already strongly appealed to my tastes, which is why I immediately ordered their new album upon announcement, and without thought. And I wasn’t fooled! More varied, more melodic and thickly produced Death Metal with a certain Industrial touch. That’d be my description.
If you haven’t started either of the two videos yet, you may do so now! I picked two songs on purpose, so as to convince as many of you as possible of this band’s qualities. For the first of the two, the track Moment of Impact they cut-pasted a neat little video together, fro movie fragments. Because that song is somewhat slower and easier, Feel the Ground (Devastated) will provide you with the necessary ear-violence afterwards.
You can find all other info on the group’s website!
DeadSystem – Death’s Embrace
DeadSystem doesn’t quite reach the quality level of Cypecore, but still. They also released an album last year, their debut. Pretty fuckin’ late, considering they’ve been around for nearly seven years already, but we’ll roll with it.

As so often with young bands, it can take a fuck load of time before they get a record deal or find a way to put up their material for sale at all. For that very reason the release of DeadSystem’s debut moved from its planned date in 2009 to 2010.
On the album, titled Misery Within, we find some proper Melodeath. Proper, but it hasn’t rocked me off my chair yet. In terms of catchiness, the song Death’s Embrace is the album’s strongest. That’s the direction they should move on in, in the future. But obviously the guys knew that, as they didn’t film a video for that particular song for nothing.
If you wanna keep an eye on the group, tune in to their official website.
Words of Farewell -Sorae
I’m starting to notice this post has somewhat gotten an unexpected structure. The first band has, so far, released two albums, the second band only one, and Words of Farewell is still down to zero. That’ll soon change though, as the band has recently announced the imminent release of their debut Immersion on their MySpace. All the work on it is already done. All that’s left to do is find a label and start the whole sales process.

As a small appetizer the band has already uploaded their first song, carrying the title Sorae. Be warned though, as this song will induce heavy fuckin’ cravings for more! The sweet keyboard melody in the beginning is not one you’ll quickly, or easily, get out of your head again.
Over and out!

I very much dig all three of them!
Love the hint of pig squeeling leading up to the chorus part of DeadSystem. It’s like it wants to come out, but can just (barely) be contained at the benefit of normal growls. Very cool.
Nice selection again mate!

@Niek
Of course I will, if I find the time to. I’m not sure at the moment. But i guess we’ll hit the studio by the end of 2011 for the next album. I don’t want to promise that much… but I think we’ll do some experimentals on our next album. Much heavier and much softer directions. We all have a good feeling about it.
Ah, and sorry… our homepage is offline because of some problems with trojans and shit like that
