In Flames – Acoustic Medley

Wed, 03/02/2010

Another one for our Acoustics category. It’s from In Flames’ Black Ash Inheritance EP, released in 1997. Anyone with an acoustic guitar should attempt to play this. Though it sounds brilliant it’s not too difficult to play and so practicing this can be very rewarding. Listen to Acoustic Medley.

Thanks Wartecz!

In Flames – Metaphor

Not fully acoustic, but still very nice! In Flames’ Metaphor. From their 2002 Reroute to Remain album.

Thanks to Wartecz!

Heaven Shall Burn – Io

Mon, 01/02/2010

I’ve already shown some Heaven Shall Burn long ago. That was a particularly screamy song, but it turns out these guys can do sensitive acoustic stuff as well. Listen to their short masterpiece Io.

Thanks Wartecz!

Another one for the acoustics and instrumental collection. It’s the title track of Nightrage’s 2007 album A New Disease is Born.

Thanks to Rauhan!

Godgory – Sea of Dreams

Fri, 15/01/2010

One more for the acoustic category. Also from a Swedish melodic Death Metal band. Also one to disband in 2004. Godgory has left the world with four studio albums. The first one is called Sea of Dreams, the title track of which was remastered and featured on the band’s 2001 Way Beyond album. Here it is, mixed with a nice bit of video.

Darkest Hour – Pathos

Thu, 14/01/2010

A while ago I posted some Darkest Hour. Today I’ve come across a beautiful acoustic piece of their work. Should help you get to sleep. Listen to Pathos.

Opeth – In my Time of Need

Wed, 23/12/2009

OK, OK, it’s not actually fully acoustic. In fact, it’s mostly electric guitars you’re hearing. Still, it is a lovely clean song that best fits in this category! Opeth was already seen here before. Today I have the lovely, Pink Floydian track In my Time of Need lined up for you, from their 2003 album Damnation. Go read/watch!

Andy McKee – Drifting

Tue, 22/12/2009

Nope, this isn’t metal. Guy isn’t even a metal musician at all. He’s a very gifted guitarist though! Plays very beautiful acoustic songs, and in the end that’s what matters for this category! This is the song Drifting by American guitarist Andy Mckee. Go read/watch!

Disarmonia Mundi – Glimmer

Mon, 21/12/2009

On request by my friend Wheene another acoustic song. This should get you to sleep if you’re having trouble to. This track is called Glimmer and can be found on Disarmonia Mundi’s recent new album The Isolation Game. Go read/watch!

The Atmosfear – Enter Your Dreams

Sun, 20/12/2009

There have been a number of acoustic masterpieces here already. Today we have another one thanks to Sean! The Atmosfear is a German Death Metal band that started business in 1995. This is a lovely acoustic song, which, unlike what the YouTube video title says, is called Enter Your Dreams, from their album Shadow in Your Dreams. Go read/watch!
