Israel gives us some nice black folk metal in the form of Arafel. Though active since 1997 they have only managed two albums, the second titled Second Strike: Through the Flames of the Ages holds Serpent Land.

Symphonic blackened Death Metal from Sweden courtesy of Grief of Emerald. Active since 1990 their last album release was in 2002. Christian Termination is the name of that album containing Scum of the Earth. All three of the bands albums are available for free download at their website.

Torturized is a German band formed in 2001 playing very old-school sounding Death Metal. Demons is a track from their 2006 studio debut Uncontrollable Hours.

How freaky do you want it? Cause today the UK’s Umbah is gonna give it to you very freaky indeed. There’s no good way to describe this stuff, but industrial cyber metal gets close. Encyclopedia Metallum calls it Avant-garde industrial Death Metal. Just listen to it for yourself. This track is called Whispers of a Dying Sun, a promo track for the one-man band’s forthcoming record.

Let’s stay black for one more from Satanic metallers Ondskapt. Hailing from Sweden since 2000 they released their third album this year, titled Arisen from the Ashes it brings A Graveyard Night.

Ooh, have I got some cheerful music for you: Triptykon, from Switzerland. Some of the darkest, most despairing doom-black-Death Metal I’ve heard. Abyss Within My Soul is found on the band’s 2010 debut release Eparistera Daimones. Title sounds evil. The cover looks evil. The music is EVIL!

Technical melodic Death Metal from Americans Vörnagar active since 2003. 2005 brought their debut The Bleeding Holocaust where you can find Hyperion.

Have some American metalcore, mixed with alternative and death metal sauce. If you, like me, are thinking “these guys sound a bit like Soil, then that might not be a coincidence, because one of their guitarists used to be with Soil. Moreover, they’ve got Wayne Static, from Static X on guest vocals in this track.

Brutal, brutal Death Metal. Sweden’s Degrade formed in 2000 and released their first full-length in 2006, titled Lost Torso Found it contains Prenatal Butchery.

That too soft for you? Then have some Cardiac Arrest, the USA one, not the Swedish one. In 2008 they came out with a disc named Cadaverous Presence, containing What Lurks Therein. Machinegun drums and a lot of low-tuned guttural guitars.
