Full Album Stream: Mastodon’s The Hunter

Mastodon will release The Hunter in North America one week from today but they’ve put up a full album stream for us to check out now. I imagine this will only be up for a week or so, so I’m going to just put it here on the home page.

I am a huge Mastodon fan and other fans can confirm that every album is different from the last in a way that shows constant growth and progress. I’ve only listened all the way through once and have mixed feelings. It’s good, very good, but it’s different, very different. Existing fans be ready and those of you who aren’t already fans at least give this a skim-through.

    That sounds pretty descent. I like the kind of electronic intermezzo near the end. It’s not totally grabbing me though.

    I’ve listened a few more times now and I like it more with each listen. That said, I really miss the Leviathan era Mastodon.

    Love the video work they’ve made! Songs are pretty cool too. There’s some similarity to Queens of the Stone Age somewhere, but I like this 100x better.
