Joint NCS-DMB contest. Great prize! Little effort!

If you actually read some of the blurbs and jibbajabba I put up here, you might have noticed my passionate love for hamburgers, something I actively spread and for which cause I try to convert as many as possible. Hamburgers or hell!

Anyway, the other day I got into a discussion with NCS‘ Islander – he’s all the way over in Seattle, USA – about burgers. His post featuring Goatwhore somehow got me all steamed up for the stuff and we discussed a nice recipe for richly topped burgers, including pineapple, bacon, Gouda cheese and cheese-onion buns. I went on to create the stuff and drank it with Grolsch. I also posted pictures and that in turn stimulated Islander to follow suit: he had the same burgers for dinner, as well as the Grolsch beer that I photographed with it. So far so good.

But then, we both felt the stomach bombs and had a stuffed evening, burping up our munchings of earlier. Metal food is tough! But tasty. So, Islander thought about naming the thick bastards. A name that ideally pays tribute both to the burger’s heaviness and its tastfulness. And you know what, we decided we would let you do it! You come up with a good, preferably funny, name for the stuff. Cook ‘em and eat ‘em yourself if you need the inspiration. Put your entries in the comments of this post or of the equivalent post on NCS and make sure to fill out a working e-mail address so we can contact you if needed.

Why would we possibly contact you? Because there’s a grand prize for the winner of this joint NCS-DMB contest!

The winner will get two packages by mail – one from Seattle, one from the Netherlands – filled with metal music. So that’s hard copy albums, tangibles, the ones you can frisbee with if you like. Or break. Or give to your mom for her birthday. Or stick between your butt cheeks. Whatever you like mate. All together you’ll receive the following albums:

  • Kataklysm – Heaven’s Venom
  • Neurosis – Enemy of the Sun
  • Ion Dissonance – Cursed
  • Decrepit Birth – Polarity
  • Demonic Ressurection – The Return to Darkness
  • Red Descending – Where Dreams Come to Die
  • Chronic Xorn – Death Destruction Sermon
  • Symbol of Obscurity – n.N.i.M.m.
  • The Way of Purity – Crosscore

That should be sufficient to get in your daily ear-wreckage for the next weeks!

The rules? Simple:

  • Only one winner of this whole contest, we pick
  • Should the winning name be entered by different persons, only the one who was first will be the winner
  • The contest runs for one week, so that’s till Wednesday September 8th, midnight, GMT – or the first minute of the morning of the Thursday after, whichever way you like to look at it
  • We’ll put up the recipe for “the winning name” burger on both sites. Consider it some sort of digital cup

Alright then. Clear? Then bring up your burger names and good luck!

Contest closed! Results will be published soon….

    Metal Stomach-Head Banging-Sweet Licking-Riff Your Face Off-Brain Banging-Baboon Burger.

  2. Kebabhasse Says:

The Speedily Brutal Heroic burger of Deathly Doom Thrashing Industrialising Powercore.

This burger is destined to show The Way of Purity instead of the path of Ion Dissonance and thus leading us away from Neurosis in our Chronic Xorn, if rejected a Kataklysmic reaction will happen and the Demonic Resurrection will begin, the first sign is the Decrepit Births before the Red Descends and all we will be are merely Symbols of Obscurity

    Huehuehue wordplay

  3. Kebabhasse Says:

Wow, that was a bit lengthy. Only the first paragraph is the proposed name, the rest is just blabbering bullshit from a guy who has nothing to do on his freetime :)

  4. Islander Says:

@Kebabhasse: If someone had told me they could put all those bands in a single sentence in a way that almost made sense, I’d have said no way. Bravo!

  5. Kebabhasse Says:

Well thanks, it is one of my many many many useless skills. :)

  6. Thomas Says:

    True Metalhead’s Appetizer.
