Music Posts for Saturday August 21st 2010

We’re gonna do things a little differently from now on. No more loads of separate music posts every day, but just one. Don’t worry, you’ll get the same amount of speaker-wrecking noise though, as we’ll stick a bunch of music vids (or static vids for that matter) into one. You’ll have less back-and-forward clicking to do, and the front page should become a bit “calmer”, causing posts to get a longer exposure time.

Feedback on this is absolutely welcome, so if you think it sucks ass, let us know!

The Project Hate MCMXCIX – The Locust Principles

Alright then, we’ll start the Saturday posts with a wild horde of Swedish Satanics. My non-metal-loving girlfriend is sitting next to me at the moment and I can tell she’s not enjoying them. I do though, so there’s a good chance you will too. The Project Hate MCMXCIX (that’s 1999 in Roman numbering) formed up in – your guess is wrong – 1998. A bunch of full-lengths later, they came out with The Lustrate Process in 2009.

It features a host of different guest musicians, one of which is our good friend Christian Älvestam, the baldheaded metal vocal god that we know so well from Scar Symmetry (former), The Few Against Many and Solution .45 to name just three out of a whole lot more. Christian participated on the songs The Locust Principles and You Come to Me Through Hell. The former is all set for you to listen to right under this, and with its nine minutes you’re up for a real treat.

We thank this one to Rufio!

Loco – Kuckuck

You know, what I like about metal – among many other things obviously – is that the lyrics just don’t always deal about love, affection and relationships. Instead it’s about gore, violence, (anti-)religion and many other cheerful topics. Germany’s Loco, wrote a song called Kuckuck, which is German for Cuckoo. The song’s fully in German and I have trouble understanding what he’s grunting on about, but I believe it’s about the bird’s violent and greedy nature.

The song is found on the band’s 2008 debut album, Seelenreiter (Soul Rider). So, what the hell are you waiting for, press “Play”! Oh, and if you just did and are thinking your computer just crashed, it hasn’t, the song just starts off that way.

Aglarond – Alone

Like doom metal? Then we’ve got one for you. Aglarond, from Monterrey, Mexico, started out with the stuff in 1996. I don’t get the idea of it being the most stable band, with four members and eight ex-members, but they have managed to get a few releases out. Embraced by Darkness is their latest one.

And that features a calm and soothing track called Alone. Think slow piano, lots of sadness (my girlfriend just said it’s depressing) and an overly crude Baboon taking care of the vocal efforts. It’s not the most refined combination, but fuck it. Refinement is for fashion types.

Here’s their MySpace!

Discreation – Liberation

Discreation, that’s just a different word for destruction and hence a fitting name for a loud aggressive metal band. Nothing too original or brilliant, but it does the trick. As does their music: melodic Death Metal with strong hints of metalcore and a bit of a groove to it. These Germans have nearly ten years of experience in the business and just came running out of the studio with their second proper album, Withstand Temptation.

We have four minutes and six seconds of them lined up in the form of the album’s opening track Liberation. It’s melody rich, so this is recommended for the fans of melodeath and/or metalcore in particular.

Alright, in case you’ve been wondering “why the hell can’t I find the clips in this post?”: that’s because I, with my snail’s IQ, forgot to embed the videos. My apologies. It’s fixed now!
