myGRAIN – Of Immortal Aeons
I just mentioned myGRAIN in the previous post about Universum and just couldn’t resist writing a post about it now, instead of tomorrow. I’ve got a week off anyway, so that gives me time to feed you some extra Metal. Before I forget, I didn’t just get onto myGRAIN’s trail through that previous post, as it was also tipped by CroOZza the other day.
He said about the band: “that one has totally blown me away! Their new album will be released in early January and I think it will be the first highlight of the year.” Sounds pretty damn positive, and really, I can do nothing but share in the anticipation!

This Melodeath band formed in 2004 in Finland’s capital of Helsinki. It didn’t take them too long to break loose from the petri dish out of which so many new bands never rise, struggling their way into oblivion, as myGRAIN struck a deal with Spinefarm Records for their 2006 debut record Orbit Dance. After that another followed in 2008, called Signs of Existence – a song from that one was featured on The Baboon nearly a year ago – and, as said, another, self-titled album is to follow next month.
There’s more good news for those in butt-squeezing anticipation too: they’ve already released the first video for one of the album’s tracks. Of Immortal Aeons is that track’s title and in it we hear a cacophony consisting of big use of synths, mixed clean and death growling vocals, crunching and rollin’ guitar riffs, speedy drum battering and tons of melody. A treat for the ear, even if you (think you) may not like those synths.
Keep an eye on the band through their official website.
