Red Descending’s Burned to Death Official Video – The Extended Cut

This is a DMB exclusive and we’re very happy about that. And proud. And honored! And it makes our cock tickle.

Ever since I discovered Red Descending’s Fragile Nation music video I’ve been keeping a close eye on the band and in touch with front man and bassist Bernard Shaw. An interview I had with him back in early 2010 can be found here.

Skip to the summer of last year, when the band released their Kingdoms album, their second full-length since they started the band in 2003. I did an extensive review of the album and praised its alternating nature between darkness and light, a struggle that is omnipresent throughout the record’s compositions. Great record and one you should definitely check out if you haven’t already!

Anyfuck, some time ago the band released their music video to Burned to Death, the second track on the album, while pretty much at the same time their Burned to Death DVD was aired. That DVD contains the extended cut music video to the song, as well as a bunch of live material (including the song Kings of Torture we covered a while ago), some up close and personal guitaring footage and the making of said music video. An enjoyable piece of entertainment. Now to the point of this posting here: Red Descending honored DMB by allowing it the sole right to upload just that extended video.

The video features a bunch of rugged mountain thugs – at least that’s what I make of it – that have kidnapped a chick for whatever reason – fuckslave perhaps? She’s the reason of a struggle developing and in the end someone gets burned to death. Great conceptual piece of work and very well executed. Without wanting to spoil the video for you, that pyro stunt at the end isn’t a CGI effort!

The Burned to Death DVD can be ordered at Red Descending’s official Big Cartel page, where you can also get their two studio albums and other merch. Finally, visit the band on Facebook to show them some love!
