The Baboon Needs YOU!
Hi all!
Since I’ve started this weblog/website I’ve had the pleasure of receiving quite a few metal heads here already. My intention is to make/maintain The Baboon as a place where you discover more and new bands, music and styles within the genre of loud fuckin’ music.
To facilitate this, I have just spent a couple of hours implementing a “tags” feature that should really improve search functionality. You can now find more of what you like in a quicker and easier way, which in the end should make you want to stay longer.
Having basically done all of this for you (alright, alright, I’ve also done it for my own pleasure), The Baboon asks something in return. I have already posted a giant fuckin’ heap of bands and music here and I believe I can go on like this for quite a while still. However, inevitably, there’s going to be a moment in which I run dry and I will know of no more bands and music to post, and finding some will prove a long process. Therefore, I would like to ask you to contribute to the stream of posts by using the “Dump a Link!” feature, that I had already implemented earlier, precisely with this in mind.
If you contribute a link, you help postpone the point where there’s nothing left to post, hopefully until infinity. If you see or know of anything appropriate, send it in and I will seriously consider posting it. Basically, my only requirement is that it fits this website’s aim and that the sound quality is of decent quality. I WILL give you credits for contributing!
Secondly, although visitor numbers are slowly picking up, they are still relatively low. Getting more visitors will definitely serve as a motivator for me, while simultaneously it will hopefully increase the number of “dumped links”, thereby benefitting you, as a visitor, as well. To cut short: please spread the word about this website’s existence to all your metal-loving friends, acquaintances and family. This will definitely help me a lot!
Having said all that, leaves me with nothing else to say than: enjoy The Baboon!

this site is mad as i love the underground metal see it would be cool if you could put sumthing els on here to help the new bands like post your best songs and info on were thay play and stuff like that any how iv got know cule on how to do that dump a link stuff (im a bit slow in the pc lol) so heres sume bands what iv got a lot of respet for i dont know how well known there are so cut me sume slack if there not an underground band lol
4.magnertron:these guys are prity good thay just need that big brake to get them known by all i dont have any of there cds but what iv seen of them on late night ctv was good realy good
3.park way drive: this is hardcor punk thay are the first hardcore band i lissend to

2. the haunted: these guys are one hell of a band thay sing a wide rang of music what just means you have to know the cd what your buying if you cant lissen to black metal or the other way round
thay are from norway so thay do know there black metal prity well

1. ot3p: this one has been thro it all and she dosent hold back with the what she ses ither when i first herd her music it made my stomic tern inside out and all the hair on the back of my neck stand on end with the goose bumps to now days when i here the sound of here voice i feel like hevey drugs are getting pumped throw my vanes and thats why shes my number one

Thanks for you comment. First off, the dump-a-link feature is easy. It’s really just an online contact form. Find the “Dump a Link!” link in the left menu bar and click it. You’ll find a contact form. Just fill it out and press send. It’ll show up in my e-mail box only.
Second: two of the bands you’ve just mentioned are already posted (Parkway Drive and The Haunted). You can find them through the search functionality in the left menu bar.
The other two are new for me, so I’ll add them to my bands-to-post list. Thanks for the tip!
Finally, as for extra features regarding (underground) bands, I am thinking of expanding this website’s features in the future. How and what that’ll be I don’t know yet. At this point I am focusing on increasing visitor numbers and getting content up. At this phase in my life (graduating from university) that takes up all the time I can miss.
But eventually I will expand

Great idea for a website, but why is most the music on here death metal or black metal?
Where’s all the folk, power, speed, instramental, thrash, progressive?
I like this site, but perhaps you should try incorperating more styles of music.

Ok here is portion of more Polish bands for you:
a) Azarath – brutal death metal, Inferno from Behemoth plays there on drums
b) Vesania – black metal, its Orion’s from Behemoth main band, he is vocalist/guitarist there
c) Hunter – its more likely thrash for me, but they say they play “soul metal”
d) Kat (in english it mean executioner) – thrash metal similar to early metallica, they sing only in polish but its great band, they are loved here in Poland, check song Odi Profanum Vulgus
e) Rootwater – thrash/nu metal, they remind me Sepultura a bit.
f) Black River – heavy rock, Orion from Behemoth on bass here to
g) Lost Soul – death metal, they just putted out awesome album called “Immerse In Infinity”
h) Coma – progressive rock
Thats all for now i will write to you if i get some more bands on my mind. Cheers!

I see you still don’t have Spawn Of Possession here. It’s swedish technical brutal death metal band, check it out, it will fit perfectly to your site !

Thanks guys! Just posted Spawn of Possession. Whole Agony and Cannibal Corpse I posted a couple of days ago. I really don’t think Rammstein fits here, but I’ll see about the other two bands soon.
