Three Melodeath Beasts
The following three bands have been waiting on their deployment on my list for quite some time. Today though, the time has come to release them into the world. Warnings go out in particular to people living in Germany, Canada and Australia, where these monsters hold their habitat and where they can be seen live and in the wild regularly.
Uncreation – Sun of Ice
The first of the beasts is usually named Uncreation and has been up to mischief since 2003 in the German region around Hamburg. Up to now, it was mainly found underground, because apart from a demo, nothing sprung off. In 2007, however, it retreated for a while, to sit on the eggs of its first delivery. In January of this year hatching came to an end and the beast’s offspring first saw the light.

It carries the name Burning Blood, and that’s exactly what it does to a man, once he comes under its spell. The “Sun of Ice” may help to cool it down a bit again.
On the internet, one can catch a glimpse of the Uncreation being here!
Kälter – For the Last Time
More cooling is delivered by the next band, at least that’s what its name implies, since Kälter is German for Colder. The monster was born in 2006, first playing Children of Bodom covers, later vomiting up its own songs. That it takes a lot of influence from its mother band is clear from the pronounced guitar play and keyboards, the only commonality it has with its parent.

In 2009 Kälter had its first young, Spiritual Angel, of which I only heard this year. Unfortunately, because it’s really a killer piece of work. On offer is extremely melodic, progressive and symphonic Death Metal with loads of finesse and passion. None of the songs is of under five minutes in length (apart from a short intermission), so there is much to be discovered. For example in For the Last Time.
You can keep track of the band through its Facebook page!
Orpheus – Unscathed
Australia is the home of a bunch of talented Melodeath beasts, such as Be’lakor and Universum. I would like to add Orpheus to the list of creatures to look out for. The five-headed outfit formed itself in 2007 and, like Uncreation, hatched its first record, by the title of Bleed the Way, this year.

The sound is faily similar to that of Kälter, but slightly less proggy. You can get a good impression through Unscathed. Warning: not all of you may dig the slightly techno-like keyboard melodies.
The band has an official homepage, which you can find here.

Creative piece, man!
The keyboards in Orpheus actually made it work better for me, something different.
