Who We Are
Right, The Baboon was started in November 2009 by Niek. The idea was simply to be a good place for metalheads of all different flavors to have a source of new metal all the time. Now, more than half a year into it, you, the visitor, have proven there’s a market for it (thanks for that by the way!). The Baboon has grown rapidly and now consists of six metal-loving people contributing regularly. Let us introduce ourselves.

[...] Metal Baboon automatically wins the prize for most metal URL ever. A team of six fucking brutal contributors (who don’t look anything like baboons) source music from all over the world, from all over [...]

I like Sylosis and similar sounds like that, but don’t care much for vocals. I just don’t see how growling goes well with metal. But at any rate, to avoid human vocal cords, any good recommendations for instrumental metal that is like Sylosis, Fear Factory and a strong melody and syncopated/blast beats on the double bass drums?
Secondly, do you know of any bands out there that is death metal musically but primarily uses clean vocals? That would be refreshing and a welcome concept to me.
Thanks.

Hey Frank! Thanks for your comment. I’m positive I’ve heard some examples of what you seek recently, but at this point I can’t recall their names too well.
But, for the instrumentals, try searching through these: http://deathmetalbaboon.com/tag/instrumental I’m sure there’ll be a bunch there that’ll be to your liking.
For clean vocaled Death Metal, try Loch Vostok, Destrage (do unclean too) and Vanisher. All I can come up with now. Let me know if these are any good! If I think of any others I’ll let you know.
